I was reminded of some of the very special qualities of the Island of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides recently when visiting the island yet again. Contented cattle grazed peacefully as thrushes, starlings and lapwing explored their grazing, undisturbed by throngs of people or traffic. Jewel-like colours lit up the scene as clear, bright light glanced off early spring grass and the distinctive rooftops of Balemartine, here viewed from Hynish Point. I grabbed a chance to sketch again while my other half played a game with the dog and put the kettle on!
