If someone had warned me in advance that this spot was notorious locally for ‘catching the wind’, I would still have sat here to attempt to paint this super view! I didn’t have my little ‘pop-up’ beach shelter with me on this trip, but I’d have had difficulty erecting it that day! As it was, the gale managed to scatter my equipment everywhere, despite strenuous efforts to batten everything down with large bulldog clips, elastic bands et al…I gave up in the end and worked from photo references back at base, but the next day the light was super again, so I was able to finish it off en plein air…always a good move!
