Island Sheep, Balephetrish

Believe it or not, this lovely spot is NOT a figment of the imagination! This was what met our eyes on our very first visit to the island when we rolled up at one of the Croft Camping Sites organised on Tiree in order to protect the machair from potential damage from camper vans.

…and it doesn’t change….well, not much anyway, as I took this photo several years later just after we had arrived at our favourite camping spot!

After a long spell on the boat our spaniel was thoroughly enjoying himself , stretching his legs and having a good sniff around, but kept safely away from new calves and their mothers, not far away across the field.
